Specialised Applications and Services Concrete Breaking

The high energy, large depth of influence and high productivity of the Landpac ground improvement equipment makes it an effective mechanism for the breaking up of concrete surface layers. Generally speaking, the thickness of concrete that can effectively be broken up using the Landpac high energy compaction equipment is limited to 300mm and less.

This application of concrete breaking tends to be very site specific and depending on the thickness and the extent of reinforcing within the concrete layer, different configurations of the Landpac high energy compaction masses are applied to suit the particular circumstances.

Further development of some specialised concrete breaking masses is currently being carried out by Landpac in an attempt to extend the capability of this particular application.

The added capability of the Landpac CIR and CIS systems to provide a quantitative measurement of the material response and settlement during the concrete breaking process, allows for accurate control of the process over the entire area being treated. This enables an objective assessment to be carried out regarding the extent of compaction required to reach a specific level of breakdown of the material and the accurate identification of any potential problem areas.
